Talha Iqbal is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from School of Medicine, National University of Ireland, Galway under the supervision of Prof. William Wyns and Dr. Atif Shahzad. He received BSc in electrical engineering degree in 2016 and MSc electrical engineering degree in 2018 from COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. His research areas are computer vision and machine learning. He is a gold medallist in the Diploma of Associate Engineering (Electronics), bronze medallist in BSc program and gold medallist in the MSc program. He has participated in project competition organized by Directorate of Science & Technology (DoST) and in Frontiers of Information Technology conference (FIT 2015) project exhibition. He has served as a reviewer at IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence. He has also conducted a Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) workshop as resource person on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Training.
He is the recipient of the COMSATS full-time scholarship (A+ category), QCRI/Boeing Travel grant (Qatar), Top-10 APPRC Award (Australia) and Scholarship under SFI Professorship Award (Ireland). His interest lies in supervised and unsupervised learning, generative adversarial networks, data science, biosensors, wearable devices and signal processing.
